Barry Garapedian Launches Consulting Firm MAG 7

Barry Garapedian launches a new consulting, coaching, mentoring, and advisory firm catering to high-school and college-aged students.

Drawing on a 39-year career as a financial adviser, he is teaching young people about “life hacks” and paths to success that will help them meet their highest potential. “I call my method Mag 7,” says Barry Garapedian, “the Magnificent 7 tactics not taught in school, church or by most parents. I’ve distilled it down to what works for kids and young adults in the 14-27 age range.”

The coaching program is uniquely designed to help young adults develop high-performance habits, maintain a positive mindset, and create structure and discipline in their every-day lives. Barry Garapedian works with his clients to harness self-confidence and courage, guiding them to embrace discomfort as a growth tool. It’s a personal program tailor-made to suit his student’s individual personalities.

“I believe every person can be incredibly successful with the right tools, encouragement and coaching. I’ve created models that accelerate success. I give my clients the keys to the “faster button.”

Garapedian began his career on Wall Street in his twenties, where he shot to the top, receiving recognition from the Financial Times and Barron’s. Throughout his career he has worked closely with clients and their children, helping them to foster value that is well beyond the family’s balance sheet. For over 15 years, he has also volunteered as a Career Coach at Pepperdine University, mentoring close to 1,000 students.

“Over my career, I’ve had tremendous success teaching kids and young adults. My model is simple and elegant. It’s been refined over 30 years. Many of my prior students keep in touch with me long after formal coaching ends. My forte is teaching. Both of my parents were teachers. It’s in my DNA.”

A native Southern Californian, Garapedian graduated from University of Southern California with B.A. in Public Policy. He is a sought-after speaker at business fraternities, student professional clubs and the Pepperdine Ambassadors Council.

He has served on many boards, including the Olive View UCLA Medical Center and the Armenian Film Foundation. He is currently on the board of the Cancer Support Community VVSB, the Crest Board at Pepperdine University and Pomegranate Foundation.
