Barry Garapedian - Why Factor
The Why Factor By Barry Garapedian
Thank you, for the last, I’d say, 30 years, I have always been working with my clients’ kids, and I’d love to mentor and teach them life skills. What I realized when I retired is that missed that part of the business.
Hello. My name is Barry Garapedian. Welcome to Mag 7. I met my wife Sharon in 1982. We’re a close family. Everyone gets long. We cheer for each other, we root for
each other, we advocate for each other. And at the end of the day, we’re collaborating, sharing our lives with each other.
I stayed in the brokerage business for over 39 years. The most important prized possessions of my clients really are their children. And I realized also that if I could help their kids with life skills and could help them get to where they wanted to be, that was magic. The schools can only do so much, and there’s so much more the kids can be doing.
Mag 7 stands for the magnificent 7, it’s the 7 lessons you never learn in school. Mag 7 has three primary audiences that I impact high school students that want to get into the college of their dreams, college students that want to get their first great job and college graduates in the first five years that want to climb the ladder fast.
I do believe in doing things to make you feel better, that bring in endorphins, bring in dopamine, bring in epinephrine such as cold water, submersion heat, exercise, and diet. All these things matter.
Many kids are not athletes. We get them walking. We get them having awareness of what they’re eating, we vet the student very thoroughly. If I believe they’re the right fit, I will offer them an opportunity to work with me. They would need to sign a commitment letter and be 100% committed.
How I keep track of the kid’s progress is I have a digital dashboard on my
computer, customize it to the kids every day. They’re jogging, information on their smart sheet and I can see exactly what they’re doing. I wanted to put my energy into something that was fulfilling and exciting for me and knowing I can make a dent in the universe.
Changing lives where I’m at, that’s the second chapter of my life. That’s what I want to do. I don’t think I’d want to be doing pretty much anything else.

“I call my method MAG 7. The magnificent 7 tactics not taught in school, church or by most parents. I’ve distilled it down to what works for kids and young adults in the 14-27 age range. The coaching program is uniquely designed to help young adults develop high-performance habits, maintain a positive mindset, and create structure and discipline in their every-day lives.”
